Sell False Eyelashes: Step-By-Step Online Website on Shopify with Dropshipping
Share
I built this website for free for one of our clients whose daughter wants to sell lashes online.
I enjoy building beauty websites very much, the process of building them from scratch is quite tiring but also entertaining.
Your online store is what is going to differentiate you from the competition.
It needs to be smooth and visually amusing to capture people’s attention.
The trick is to make intervals of selling and education.
That creates a storytelling effect that makes the customer stay as long as possible.
Keep reading to know my way of doing it.
Adding Domain
The first thing you need to do is to choose the Shopify plan that suits your purpose.
You can pay monthly first so you don’t burden yourself.
Then as soon as you finish setting it up.
You will need to add your domain.
Shopify offers its own domain, but I honestly prefer GoDaddy Domains, for domains only, of course.
Collections, Pages, and Footers
We will need to divide the website into clear functions.
The header is the prime real estate of the website.
The collections you made for the products can appear as sections on the header by going to the navigation and then the main menu.
Then gather your items by adding product tags and set the condition in the collection so they can be added automatically in no time.
You will need to add pages relating to policies, but maybe only the refund and shipping policies.
Plus, a contact page, an about us page, and a “more’’ section for extra products and accessories.
Just don’t overcrowd the navigation bar.
The footer should have a couple of popular collections as quick links with a good slogan.
Optimizing Online Store
Going back to the interval thing, you must have blocks of information and selling materials taking turns.
Beginning with a sleek designed banner about your brand followed by a row of 10 products that you can swipe through.
That can be adjusted from themes and then customize online store.
This should be adaptive to the mobile view as same as the desktop view so make sure to revise the mobile view.
Then you can follow that with multiple banners with rich images and enticing captions then a lead magnet with some freemium guide to gather emails.
And finish by showcasing the collections with clear pictures before arriving at the footer.
Editing Photos
Don’t upload your photos as high-quality PNG but don’t upload trashy photos too.
The idea behind that is Google tests your website performance, if your website takes time to load, you won’t rank in the search engine results.
So, upload them as JPG and check the file size.
The next thing to do is to rename all of your files. So, they have clear name as the following: Body-Wave-Bundle.JPG
And adjust the Alt text to truly describe the pictures' content.
That way your pictures become relevant, and Google can understand them to rank them.
Don’t forget about the focal point, you want to adjust it through Shopify to focus on where the money shot is.
No matter what was the device, the theme, and the scrolling. Shopify will favor the point you choose to become the center of attention.
Structuring Blog Posts
Blog posting is low-key copywriting but with a lot of patience.
It holds tremendous benefits.
By continuously posting blogs from 500 words to 2000 words.
You can earn traffic to your website which means ultimately sales.
It’s the free value you will be giving your audience to learn more about your products and services.
Be wise, be informative, and be entertaining.
Use topics related to your business. And you can get the keywords from some free tools like Ahrefs.
You need to have around 3 blogs as a minimum when you launch your website.
Check my blogging strategy for hair to learn how to do that.
If you have been in e-commerce for a while but haven’t updated your old blogs, update them right away, it is kind of scary to go onto a website and find a 3-year- old blog post.
Installing Dropshipping App
Your hair dropshipping app is the dynamo of your website, it can lift things or accelerate their way to the bottom.
You need an app that is flexible and up-to-date so you can run your business smoothly even if you lay on a bench by the sea in the Maldives.
Dropship Beauty is not just for hair but for more than 250 products in the beauty industry.
The most premium plan is priced at $20.
And you can install it from Shopify and import products within seconds to sell them immediately.
Setting and Policies
Make sure to revise your policies to make sure they align with your model.
Pay attention to the refund and the shipping policy if you want to provide a certain value for high-value orders.
The default setting should be sufficient.
But mess around to familiarize yourself with the platform, you’re going to be on it for a long time.
To-Do List
You should get a professional email address from Google Workspace to tune up with your brand image.
You should write at least one blog post per week.
You should add a review app to your product pages to cultivate social proof.
And you should be consistent with the process.
Even if you optimize for only 10 minutes a day.
The process takes persistence and patience, trust it.
